He went to the United States for further study in 1968, gained experience in Alaska banking, and took the helm of General Bank in 1982.
From overseas, he supported Taiwan’s democracy and human rights, participated in Taiwanese American organizations and the Formosa Foundation, and turned professional success into public service.
He returned to Taiwan in 2004 and later served as a Senior Advisor to the President. Through memoirs and interviews, he documented his banking career, immigrant experience, and democratic engagement.
